Mahatma Gandhi in Kerala-5 visits years

1. Khilafat agitation – 1920, Malabar
The first time Gandhiji visited Malabar was to support the Khilafat movement.

2. Vaikom Satyagraha - 1925
Gandhiji's second visit was to attempt to destroy forts of untouchablity prevalent in Kerala
Gandhi met the Regent Maharani as well as the then minor King Sree Chithira Thirunal. He discussed the matter of temple entry as well as Vaikom Sathyagraha with the regent. As a result, the roads (except the eastern one) to the temple were opened for the use of dalits as well, it also served as a catalyst for the temple entry.

3. Untouchability, Vaikom - 1927
During his visit to Trivandrum, he called on the Maharaja and Maharani of Trivandrum and discussed at length about the untouchability prevalent in Kerala.
Poet Vallathol Narayana Menon visited him at Thrissur

4. Malabar – 1934
Gandhiji reched kerala third time to collect Harijan funds
In 1934, Gandhi reached Pakkanarpuram Gandhiseva sadan established by K. Kelappan.

5.. Travancore - 1937
Gandhi visited Kerala in 1937 related to Temple Entry proclamation.
 The proclamation was made by the erstwhile and the last king of Travancore, Sri Chithira Thirunal on November 12, 1936.
