Objective: The primary objectives of the programme will be to eventually achieve an improved tourist specific service ambience and to further the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.

Target Group- It will target college-going students including those enrolled with the NCC& NSS, in the age group of 18-28 years. Each course will be of 10 days duration. The programme will be implemented by the Indian Institute of Tourism & Travel Management, first at destinations identified under the PRASAD scheme of the Ministry of Tourism.

Objective : To immunize all children against seven vaccine preventable diseases by 2020.

The Universal Immunization Program (UIP) was launched by the Government of Indiain 1985.
The Universal Immunization Programme provides life saving vaccines to protect against :

• Diphtheria
• Whooping cough (Pertussis)
• Tetanus,
• Polio
• Tuberculosis
• Measles
• Hepatitis B

All vaccines are available free of cost under the scheme.

Mission Indradhanush was launched on Good Governance Day(December, 25) to mark the birth anniversary of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya and birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Mission Indradhanush will target 201 high priority districts in the first phase and 297 districts for the second phase in the year 2015

Under the scheme:

1. Account holders will be provided zero-balance bank account with RuPay debit card, in addition to accidental insurance cover of Rs 1 lakh(to be given by 'HDFC Ergo').

2. Those who open accounts by January 26, 2015 over and above the 1 lakh ₹ accident, they will be given life insurance cover of ₹ 30,000(to be given by LIC).

3. After Six months of opening of the bank account, holders can avail 5,000 ₹ overdraft from the bank.

4. With the introduction of new technology introduced by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), a person can transfer funds, check balance through a normal phone which was earlier limited only to smart phones so far.

5. Mobile banking for the poor would be available through National Unified USSD Platform (NUUP) for which all banks and mobile companies have come together[6]

Government-backed Life insurance scheme in India.

Launched on :   9 May 2015 in Kolkata by Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Age Limit:  between 18 and 50 years of age with bank accounts.

•  It has an annual premium of ₹330 excluding service tax, which is above 14% of the premium.
•  In case of death due to any cause, the payment to the nominee will be ₹200,000
• This scheme will be linked to the bank accounts opened under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana scheme. 

PMKVY- Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana: Study Notes for Exams

Objective : The objective of this Scheme is to encourage skill development for youth by providing monetary rewards for successful completion of approved training programs.

• Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship outcome-based skill training scheme of the new Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE).

• Fund Allocation- The scheme will be implemented with an outlay of 1, 500 crore rupees.

• It will provide industry relevant, skill based training for 24 lakh Indian youth .

• Under this scheme, the trainees will be offered a financial reward and a government certification on successful completion of training and assessment, which will help them in securing a job for a better future.
• Rewards candidates undergoing skill training by authorized institutions at an average monetary reward of Rs. 8,000 (Rupees EightThousand) per candidate.

Launched on : 11 October 2014

• Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana was initiated to bring the member of parliament of all the political parties under the same umbrella while taking the responsibility of developing physical and institutional infrastructure in villages and turn them into model villages
• Launched by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi on the birth anniversary of Jayaprakash Narayan.
• Under this scheme, each member of parliament needs to choose one village each from the constituency that they represent, fix parameters and make it a model village by 2016.

Objective: Providing gainful employment for the rural poor

• The programme was implemented through the Panchayat Raj institutions.
• Formed by  merging the provisions of Employment Assurance Scheme (EAS) and Jawahar Gram Samridhi Yojana (JGSY).
• Fund is shared between centre and state in the ratio 75:25.

Prime Minister’s Rozgar Yojana

Launched on : 2nd october 1993

Objective: To assist educated unemployed youth to set up self-employment ventures.

Central Government sponsored program.


Target Group:
i) 18 to 35 years for all educated unemployed.

ii) 18 to 40 for all educated unemployed in North-East States, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and J&K.

iii) 18 to 45 years for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes, Ex-servicemen, Physically Disabled and Women.
