Marie Curie: First Woman Nobel Prize Winner


  • Marie Curie is the first woman to win a Nobel Prize.
  • She received Nobel Prize in Physics in 1903 along with Pierre Curie.
  • She won Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1911.
  • She is also the first and only woman to win a Nobel Prize twice.
  • She discovered two elements, Polonium and Radium.
  • The element with atomic number 96 was named curium in honour of Marie Curie.
